The path of life likes to be twisty, and I need to ask for help. The Friday after I graduated from my PhD program, I fell while packing and dislocated/fractured my ankle. The doctor said the surgery could not wait, so I decided to stay in Eugene for it + time in a rehab facility.
Retroactive COBRA coverage saved me from dealing with this while uninsured, but I wasn’t prepared for these expenses while unemployed. I’m making good progress, and I appreciate any financial support people wish to give. It will help cover the cost of wheelchair transport services, items to make my mom’s home more accessible (or alternate housing), and doctors’ bills (read my accountability statement for more).
